Redesign of the Electrowatt building with inclusion the green park landscpape.
Planning 2019

The renovation of the Elektrowatt building, originally designed by Walther Niehus and built in 1974, makes much of its proximity to the green parkland along the eastern shore of Lake Zurich. The transparent design of the ground floor is inviting and provides views of both Bellerivestrasse and the lakeside promenade. The layered structure of the building creates sweeping roof terraces that extend the greenery upwards. Slanted photovoltaic strips emphasise the horizontal lines of the building. Inside, the floors are divided into four, allowing for flexible use by a single tenant or multiple enterprises.
