Full renovation of a listed building from the 1950ies.
Planning 2015-2016 / Construction 2016-2017

Built in 1951 by Schneider & Gürtler, this secondary school exemplifies the school architecture of the post-war period and is a listed building. Before the comprehensive renovation of the old building, a new secondary school was built adjacent to it. After the renovation, the old building now serves as a special needs school, which, in addition to the retrofitting measures, required certain structural and design adjustments. After an assessment, the decision was made to maintain the original structure to the greatest extent possible and reconstruct or recreate where necessary. Classrooms, school kitchens and toilet facilities were reorganised to ensure good orientation and visibility.
