Seniorama Wiedikon, 8055 Zürich

Renovation, reconstruction and extension
Architecture
Originally consisting of three functionally independent parts, the building was connected to a rear connecting corridor on the 1st floor.
Planning 2010-2011 / Construction 2006-2008

Changed requirements and procedures in terms of service, support and care meant that this retirement home, built in 1977 in Zurich-Wiedikon, needed to be adapted. To make it an attractive place to live, the public areas were thoroughly repaired and expanded, staff accommodation was converted to rooms for residents and the technical installations were largely upgraded. The expansion of the reception area and restaurant on the ground floor entailed major renovation work and broke up the uniform appearance of the complex’s existing lines. A first-floor passage at the rear connects the three buildings, which were originally separate, to form a single unit.
