Planning 2025

The cubic replacement building is set back from the street, creating a second public green space. Framed by front gardens, the old and new buildings are visually and spatially related, establishing a symmetrical layout. Between them, a sheltered playground is created, primarily serving the kindergarten.
A sculptural stair and elevator tower, detached from the main volume, marks the new entrance. The three primary functions are vertically stacked in the western half of the building: between the two sports halls, the first floor accommodates the infrastructure for the all-day school’s childcare program. A covered terrace extends the outdoor space between the buildings, connecting directly to the cafeteria and the light-filled foyer of the classrooms.
The eastern half of the building is organized over five stories. On the ground floor, a multipurpose hall opens directly to the main lobby and the adjacent green space.
At roof level, an all-weather sports court and a jungle-like rooftop garden integrate the building into its green surroundings. Partially screened by trees, the new structure appears light and airy, characterized by a bright material palette. Above a solid concrete base, the transparent childcare level forms the middle zone. The upper floors are clad in a perforated metal skin, while horizontally mounted photovoltaic panels on the southeast and southwest façades create shading bands that also function as delicate canopies over the windows.
